Japanese Cruisers in World of Warships

Here are a few Japanese Cruisers in the game World of Warships

1. Aoba

Aoba is a tier VI Cruiser, represented a further development of Furutaka with main battery guns placed in twin turrets to achieve a longer gun range. Moreover, she outstripped her predecessor in torpedo armament power and AA defense capabilities.

2. Myoko

The first Japanese cruiser built after the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922 came into force. Unlike foreign Treaty Cruisers, Myoko’s armor was good enough to withstand artillery strikes from ships of the same type. One of the features of the project was well-developed torpedo protection. Following a series of upgrades, cruisers of this class got a substantially reinforced AA and torpedo armament.

3. Atago

One of the largest, heaviest and most modern cruisers in the Japanese fleet during the World War II, the Takao-class Atago, is a formidable force to be reckoned with on the high seas. Neither of her peers at the same tier can compete with Atago in combat capability and survivability which can go toe-to-toe even with lower tier battleships.

If compared to Mogami, a Tier VIII standard ship, Atago boasts five twin 203mm naval guns – a serious upgrade in size over the 155 mm guns on the stock Mogami. What‘s more, her anti-air armament is a major step-up too, at least over previous ships, being able to reliably protect allies against air squadrons. And as with every Japanese cruiser of this tier, Atago has 4 quadruple torpedo launchers with great launch angles hidden up her sleeve. A nasty surprise for any unaware enemy. This sailing mountain has some teeth!

4. Ibuki

Developed from the Mogami-class ships. Ibuki retained the powerful artillery and torpedo armament of her predecessors, but received advanced armor and a reinforced AA system
