F R I E N D S
(Part 2)
You’ll know it when a person is
your friend when you can eat their food even without permission or do pranks on
them randomly (laughs).
My circle of friends expanded as
the members of the student council increased. At first it was just purely school
business, late night meetings, deadline of paper works left and right and some
arguments which we use to call “healthy discussion”.
Members of the council are smart
people; those old folks are pretty clever and got some serious leadership
skills. Working with them allowed me to learn some of those characteristics they
have possessed. The environment we had was different with the rest of the
students, we were more exposed to the system of how the school works.
Our relationship towards one another
wasn’t perfect. It came to a point where everyone is against one another due to
different opinion and perspective, things got personal instead of handling it
in a professional manner. We were a bit of a mess that time, but we manage to
sort things out. Realization hit us so hard we even cried before saying
apologies to one another.
The thing that put us back
together in one piece is the importance of friendship. We became blinded with
the authority and power we held in our hands. Desires and desperation consumes
us the most letting us forget the people around us, our dear friends who have
been with us since day 1.
Now everything is so much better,
after all those struggles that we had, I can really say we made it. At the end
of the day, our hearts long for companionship from people who are dear to us. I
am glad we made this far and I know this won’t stop here. Later when all of us
become successful in our own individual careers, we will be each other’s best man and bride’s maid (laughs).
Do you consider your friends as your precious treasure?
