Gua Batu Maloi Caving trip

Gua Batu Maloi is a cave with Granite formation which is not as your typical limestone cave formation where you have a hole in a mountain in which you can enter. It is made from the accumulation of boulders and huge rocks. The spaces between those rock formations created the cave which is also along a cold flowing river which made it more challenging and interesting. The darkness within the cave would really make you feel terrified but as soon as you overcome those fear you would realize that it is really indeed an amazing experience.

Introduction and Safety Briefing

Before entering the cave, we are being briefed by our guide for several instructions that we need to follow within the cave. Headlamp is the first equipment we need to bring inside the cave to navigate within the cave properly because there are sections which is pitch dark. It is advisable to wear proper attire that would cover your body to avoid any scratches because you need to climb over or cross under the rocks.

Adventure awaits

We must enter the cave in a single line because the passages are narrow that can be entered one at a time. Everyone must work together to conquer the cave successfully and to avoid being separated from your group. It’s important to be patient and also make sure that you won’t leave anyone behind. When you’re lost, don’t try to escape the cave on your own.

A memorable experience

It is really a memorable and wonderful experience, especially I conquered it with my friends and I’m glad that I got to spend it with them before we go back to our respective countries. After the trip, we’re really exhausted but it is all worth it. Overall the trip was full of emotions; the fear before entering, the excitement inside the cave and the satisfaction and relief when already outside. Gua batu maloi is really a place to remember and I highly recommend this place to those who are seeking for adventure.
