Farewell Party of DNS 24 :(

OK guys this is (almost) the end :(

On Thursday, 12 September 2019, we DNS 24 did our farewell party as a project from our beloved Ma’am Hanim. We did some surveys on the previous days and in the end we chose to spend our farewell at a beachside homestay in Pengkalan Balak, just beside the police stations =D.
So we requested ALAM to provide us a bus, and thankfully the Student Affairs Unit approved. The bus was requested to be at parade square at 1730 sharp, and that day we were having Colregs workship until 1700, but by the grace of Capt. Monir, he allowed us to dismiss early which was around 1645. Right after dismissal we rushed to our cabins to change the attire, take the things and quickly went back to the parade square, and then we boarded the bus and departed from ALAM at around 1730.

We arrived in Pengkalang Balak around 20 minutes later, and we started putting our things inside the cabins that we booked earlier. While waiting for sun set, most of us spent our time on the beach by playing volley ball (even though 70% of us don’t know how to play it), some played the guitar, and we also spent our time chilling by the beach while enjoying the beach vibe. Some of us haven’t been to a beach in a few years, especially my friend from Gujarat =D.

At night we went to take our dinner by the seafood restaurant just across the street. The food was awesome and everybody loved every single food that was served. For the vegetarian we provided a veggie pizza which was superb in my opinion.

Right after dinner, we went back to the homestay. We did a farewell speech for every member, and it was very special and touching, because some of us wont be seeing each other again in a month time so it was really enjoyable, especially for me :’).

While having speech, we opened a farewell cake that we bought and we cut it in equal pieces. The cake was a red velvet, which is luckily my favorite cake.

happiest farewell guys :(

We spent the night just by chilling and talking to each other while waiting for the bus to pick us up at around 2300. It was a good night indeed.

Our special thanks goes to Ma’am Hanim for giving us this meaningful project, Regimental Officer Capt. Yusop and the Student Affairs Unit for giving us full support in making the event possible.

With love,
DNS 24
