GUA BATU MALOI: A GREAT PLACE FOR RECREATION WITH COMRADES

GUA BATU MALOI: A GREAT PLACE FOR RECREATION WITH COMRADES

Last 18th August 2019, I and my classmates went on a trip. This trip is a class project. Our lecturer came along with us together with some of our seniors who already went on board.

This is not the first time we went to Gua Batu Maloi. Last 2018, we went there for camping. The camping is an annual event for all juniors. It was not a normal camping like setting tent and building a campfire, no. It was more like of  a military training. This second time around is purely enjoying the caving and trekking.

We depart from Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM) local Malaysia time 0700H. Time was limited so we had to eat our Nasi Lemak (Malaysian's comfort breakfast) on the bus.

We arrived at the place around 0900H. The tour guides gave us half an hour to change our clothes and to cotinue eating our breakfast.  Briefing was conducted prior proceeding to caving. Instructions were clearly stated, objectives were plainly told and most importanty the safety of everybody was highlighted as the top most priority.

Heading to the cave, the only route to take is by tracking along the river. Since it is dry season, water level is not high unlike last time we went it was during rainy season water level is up to our waist and some parts of the river is deep, water level up until our chest.

Water inside the cave was really cold! It was like the water in your fridge *laughs. Everyone was splashing water towards one another and shouting, bursting their lungs  with so much excitement.

The caving time was 3 hours. We went back directly to the base camp right after the caving and trekking for everyone was already worn out and hungry.

After lunch, we went freshen ourselves up, change our clothes and took some group photos.

We will be finishing our course this October. We will be parting ways soon. Time spent will be cherished.
